The City of Dover

The City of Dover is Delaware's second largest city and the State Capital. Founded in 1683 as the court town for Kent County, Dover is currently home to over 32,000 people. Dover's largest employer, as well as the State of Delaware's largest employer, is the State government. Dover is also home to the Dover Air Force Base, as well as manufacturing facilities for General Mills, Playtex, and Proctor & Gamble. Twice a year over 100,000 people flood Dover to attend NASCAR stock car races at the Dover International Speedway. Also calling Dover home is Delaware State University, one of Delaware's premiere higher-education facilities.
